Curriculum

2013 : begins photography career in a self-taught way. Prior to photography, Alexandre graduated in 2007 from EM Lyon business school in France, with a Master of Science in Management.

2014: 6-week photography travel to China

2015: first negative developments, first prints

2016: meets Agathe Gaillard who thereafter exhibits several prints of Alexandre in her gallery. Agathe Gaillard opened the first Parisian gallery committed to photography in 1975, and has exhibited photographers such as Don McCullin, Robert Doisneau, Henri Cartier-Bresson, etc. Also in 2016, travel to Florence

2017: takes part in the Tribute to Beauty group exhibition at Galerie Agathe Gaillard

2017: one month photography trip in Iran. Also assistant to Claude Iverné, French photographer recipient of the Henri Cartier-Bresson prize in 2015 for his work on Sudan.

2018: work is shortlisted among 13 other photographers to the Niépce Prize at the French National Library, application presented by Solenn Laurent, galerie Polka. Alexandre was the youngest Niépce prize nominee that year.

2018: takes part in the Under the Sun group show at Galerie Agathe Gaillard

2018: first trip to the Atacama desert in Chile using a Linhof Technika 4x5 inch view camera

2019: takes part in the La Passeggiata group show at Galerie Agathe Gaillard, second trip to Chile.

2020: opens Ithaque, a shared darkroom and exhibition space in the Marais in Paris: www.ithaque-paris.fr

June 2021: exhibition at Ithaque - “L’Âge de l’Abondance” (the Age of Profusion), a series of contemporary icons on wood

September 2021: PhotoBasel art fair - “150 years of landscape photography”, with Gallery WOS, Zurich

October 2021: Alexandre is among the 4 finalists of the Prize of the Print in France

November 2021: exhibition “La Lune Noire” at Ithaque

early 2022: second photography trip in Iran

May 2022: group show “De Rerum Natura” at Ithaque. With Claude Iverné, inaugural performance of the show was a live printmaking of a 2 by 3 meters tree from an 8x10’’ negative of Claude Iverné directly on a wall with liquid photosensitive emulsion, for a VIP audience of approx. 20 people.

August 2022: third trip to Iran (one month).

November 10th 2022: inauguration of the Iranian Portraits exhibition at Ithaque Chambre Noire

7th of March 2023: inauguration of the solo show of the Iranian portraits of Alexandre, exhibited at Assemblée Nationale (the French Parliament). Alexandre was invited by the president of the Assemblée Nationale, Yaël Braun Pivet, in the context of the International Day for Women’s Rights.

fall 2023: group show “Materiality and Immateriality of Photography”, French National Library (BnF), curator: Héloïse Conesa

21st of March 2024: inauguration of the solo show of Alexandre at Ithaque: “Pourquoi la Grèce?” (“Why Greece?”). On view through Saturday 13th of April 2024.
